AUPE members employed at Red Deer Polytechnic (formerly Red Deer College) will soon be able to vote on a new collective agreement.
Your negotiating team reached a tentative agreement with the employer at the end of April. We emailed details of a Memorandum of Agreement to your work email using the employer’s email system at that time.
With the agreement of the employer, we will be using an online balloting system. You will receive another email via the employer’s email system that will include a unique link allowing you to vote. The voting will be open May 26-27.
Please keep an eye out for this email and make sure to vote.
Details of the tentative agreement were sent to you last month. Briefly, the wage increases proposed are:
- Year 1: Effective July 1, 2020 - 0%
- Year 2: Effective July 1, 2021 - 0%
- Year 3: Effective July 1, 2022 - 0%
- Year 4: Effective April 1, 2023 – 1.25%
Effective December 1, 2023 – 1.5%
Plus, Additional 0.5% Subject to Gain Sharing Formula, to be added to wages retroactively effective December 1, 2023, if certain economic conditions are met.
Your negotiating committee is recommending you vote in favour of the agreement as it believes this is the best outcome achievable at this time.
