Your negotiating team met with the University of Lethbridge on May 12 for bargaining.
The university finally told us their offer: a total wage adjustment of 10% over four years.
That’s only 3% in the first year, 3% in the second year, 2% in the third year, and 2% in the fourth year. This is unacceptable. The university’s wage offer does not reflect our hard work nor realities like the rising costs of living.
Your team is eager to return to the bargaining table and fight for a better deal.
We also made small progress on non-monetary items. We agreed on minor housekeeping changes, but the employer refuses to agree with us on major issues like vacation, job promotion, and other changes to improve our working conditions.
Your team knows these issues are important to you—we will not back down.
Next bargaining meetings
Our next bargaining meetings with the employer are scheduled for June 16 and 17.
Wear red on these dates to show your solidarity! Let’s show the University of Lethbridge we are united and paying close attention to bargaining. Send your selfies and group photos while wearing red to [email protected] to be posted on AUPE’s social media.
