AUPE members working for Bethany Nursing Home of Camrose have reached a tentative agreement with their employer. This tentative agreement follows a challenging round of collective bargaining which included the assistance of a mediator.
This agreement would cover a four-year term, from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2024.
Members would receive the following wage increases:
- April 1, 2020: 0%
- April 1, 2021: 0%
- April 1, 2022: 1.25% increase (retroactive pay)
- April 1, 2023: 1.25% increase (retroactive pay)
Retroactive pay would be paid to members within 60 calendar days of ratifying the agreement.
General Support Services members would also receive COVID-19 recognition pay. This would be a one-time payment equal to 1% of your basic rate of pay for all hours worked between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021.
This agreement would also formally recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as a named holiday. Members who worked on this year’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Sept. 30) would receive the time and a half pay earned for working a named holiday.

Members will vote on whether to accept or reject this agreement in early November. Below are the voting dates and locations for each worksite.

- November 9 – West Pine

10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
