On Sept. 24, AUPE collected your ballots and counted your votes on the tentative agreement. The majority of you voted in favour of the agreement, and now, thanks to your participation, we have a new collective agreement, which your negotiations team will make available on aupe.org as soon as possible. For details about the changes to your collective agreement, please click here.

Now that the agreement is ratified, the employer will also communicate the process for requesting new uniforms and implementing thenew uniform allowance to you soon, which was part of the negotiated settlement.

Many staff will also be eligible for retroactive pay based on the hours you worked in 2020 and 2021, which will be paid within four pay periods based on the following negotiated general wage increases:

  • Jan. 1, 2020 – 1.75%
  • Jan. 1, 2021 – 1.50%
  • Jan. 1 2022 – 1.25%

Thank you again for everyone’s participation in the vote and for continuing to support your bargaining team. When we stand together, we build a workplace that’s better for the entire team. This new collective agreement will go a long way in providing us with the protections that we deserve, so we can continue to support residents, while also supporting each other.
