Your negotiating teams have agreed to extend job protections and suspend collective bargaining with Covenant Health until October 15, 2020.
Like the last time we agreed to extensions, this agreement will ensure all Albertans have access to quality health care in hospitals and continuing care during the ongoing pandemic.
You are all essential to Alberta’s health care system. These extended job protections will hopefully provide some peace of mind as you continue being the front-line heroes Albertans need, today and tomorrow. This delay will also give us time to build capacity and fight for the protections and workplaces we deserve when the pandemic has settled.

This has been a challenging time for you. Your negotiating teams recognize the sacrifices and hazards you’ve faced, and the lack of support you’ve received from the UCP.
If there is an issue at work or something that may jeopardize your health or wellbeing, please remember to refer to your collective agreement. It is there for you to use, and it is agreed to by both your employer, Covenant Health, and you, the union. Your employer must respect it.
