Negotiations took place in Jul. with further dates scheduled for Oct.
Your negotiating team met with Employer on Jul. 14 and 15 for a productive two days of bargaining. Both parties came to the table prepared to address many of the outstanding articles, and we were able to conclude negotiations on eight articles in addition to the 12 we signed-off in February.

With rollbacks and concessions tabled by the Employer, it is inevitable that we will reach an impasse at the bargaining table. While both the Union and the Employer have reserved tabling their wage proposals until further notice, the Employer has maintained their position on many articles based on the mandate set by the Government of Alberta. Once we’ve concluded negotiations on the articles that have been tabled for future meeting dates and exhausted the possibility of a negotiated agreement, the next step will be mediation. Both AUPE and the Employer will continue to reserve their wage proposal until further notice. Both parties will continue to exchange counter proposals between now and our next scheduled meeting dates, Oct. 26 and 29, 2021.
