Your Right to Refuse Unsafe Work: Free Online Webinar for AUPE Members

Text only block

While the pandemic keeps us physically distant, AUPE's education department has created a new series of free online webinars to bring members together remotely on issues important to you during this time.

AUPE members can now register for the first in this series, the Your Right to Refuse Unsafe Work webinar, which is offered at three different times.

Your Right to Refuse Unsafe Work Webinar

  • Tuesday, June 9, 5:30pm – 6:30pm
  • Wednesday, June 10, 9:00am – 10:00am
  • Thursday, June 11, 12:00pm – 1:00pm

Click here to register for one of these webinars. For your protection, please join a webinar during your non-work time and on a non-work device. Please also try to register for a webinar 24 hours in advance. Doing so will help us keep track of attendance and minimize technical difficulties.

Participating in a live webinar during the above times gives you the opportunity to ask questions during the presentation. But don’t worry if these times don’t work for you: the webinar will be made available publicly for you to view on your own time.

Just like other AUPE education opportunities, you will need your AUPE member number to register for a webinar. If you don’t know your member number, contact the AUPE Resource Centre at 1-800-232-7284 from 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Occupational Health and Safety is more important than ever right now. AUPE members are doing everything they can on the frontlines to help Albertans during this difficult time.

But to keep doing so safely, members also need to protect themselves. One part of keeping yourself safe at work is understanding your right to refuse dangerous work and exercising that right if necessary.

This new webinar will teach you about your right to refuse unsafe work and answer your questions about this challenging and important subject.

Don't miss your chance to join one of these free online training opportunities!
