Mediation continues
Your negotiating team and AHS met with the mediator from May 16 – 19 and May 24 – 26.
Mediation continues to go well; however, we have not been able to reach a tentative agreement at this point and will require further meetings with the mediator.
As part of the voluntary mediation process and a sign of bargaining in good faith, your team and AHS agreed to an embargo—meaning neither party will share new information publicly—which will remain in effect until we reach a mediated settlement or mediation breaks down.
Your negotiating team is committed to securing a fair and equitable collective agreement that treats every single AHS GSS AUPE member with the dignity they deserve.
Essential Services Agreement work also continues
If we do not achieve a new agreement through bargaining, a strike or lockout is a real possibility. In order to conduct a legal strike, we need a completed Essential Services Agreement (ESA).
ESAs lists services that—in a time of strike or lockout—are needed to protect the life, personal safety or health of the public, or necessary to the maintenance and administration of the rule of law or public security.
Member input on your ESA is extremely important! Be on the lookout for more information about worksite consultations so you can have your say and we can create our ESA.
