Local 050 members vote in favour of tentative agreement

Update for Local 050, Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis

Dec 12, 2022

Agreement with AGLC will be in effect until July 31, 2024

Text only block

The ballots have been tallied and your negotiating team is pleased to report that you have voted to accept the tentative bargaining agreement put before you.

We want to thank all members for your patience through this difficult round of bargaining. Try as we might, we were unable to move the employer off their government-imposed mandate. When we returned to informal mediation following your rejection of the previous tentative agreement, we were able to move up the effective date of the 2023 wage increase; you should see that change reflected effective January 1, 2023. At least another 1.5% increase will be in effect September 1, 2023 (the latter may increase to 2% subject to a Gain Sharing Formula). As mentioned previously, we were also able to fend off some of the employer’s more egregious demands for concessions.

Your negotiating team and Local Executive recognize the importance of building organizational strength for the next round of bargaining which is not that far off. We encourage you to get involved (reach out if you’d like to know how!)

Copies of the signed collective agreements will be available in the new year. In the meantime, we want to extend our sincerest wishes that you and yours enjoy a safe and peaceful holiday season.

In solidarity,

AUPE NEGOTIATING TEAM - ALBERTA GAMING, LIQUOR AND CANNABIS
