Employer agrees to several Articles and LOU’s
On April 19 and 20 your Covenant Health negotiating team met with the employer and negotiations are moving along steadily. The employer continues to be respectful. There is still work to be done on several outstanding issues, and we will continue to press forward with the issues that you have brought forward to your negotiating team.
During our last meeting with the employer, we were able to sign off on the following Articles and Letters of Understanding in current language:
Article 6: No Discrimination/No Harassment
Article 37: Copies of the Collective Agreement
Letter Of Understanding 1: Mutual Agreement to Adjust FTEs
Letter Of Understanding 2: Employment in Multiple Positions
Letter Of Understanding 4: Joint Committee - current language
Letter Of Understanding 6: Health Care Aide Classification
Letter Of Understanding 9: Employee Benefits (Diabetic Coverage)
Letter Of Understanding 13: Direct Deposit
Letter Of Understanding 14: Benefits - current language with some housekeeping
Letter Of Understanding 16 : Workload Appeal Process
We will continue to work with the employer towards a fair and equitable collective agreement for Covenant Health Nursing Care workers. The next bargaining dates are to be determined.
Remember that your current collective agreement remains in effect. If you feel it’s not being followed, or if you’re having problems at work, please talk to a Union Steward or reach out to AUPE’s Members’ Resource Centre at 1-800-232-7284 and they will put you in touch with your Membership Services Officer.
If you have any questions or feedback about this bargaining update, please contact a member of your negotiating team.
