Job protections and bargaining suspension extended to Sept. 1
AUPE members working for Covenant Health General Support Services and Nursing Care have had their job protections extended until September 1, 2020.
Your negotiating team had previously asked the employer to protect jobs and suspend collective bargaining until May 31, 2020. The employer agreed.
Now, with May 31 approaching, the employer has agreed to an extend job protections and the suspension on bargaining until September 1.
This is an important win for members and a reflection of the realities we are facing during this pandemic. Your negotiating team will continue to pressure the employer and the Alberta government to protect your jobs regardless of the status of the pandemic.
Stay strong, stay safe, and stick together. Please contact a member of your negotiating team or AUPE resource staff if you have any questions or concerns.
