Your negotiating team met with Carewest on December 2 and 3 for bargaining. We had constructive conversations about several important Articles and are hopeful that future meetings go just as well.
- Article 4 – Union Membership and Dues Deductions: We discussed how you can show your union pride. We want to wear many kinds of union apparel with AUPE’s logo, not just pins.
- Article 9 – Seniority: Carewest should recognize seniority for all members within Carewest when they join our bargaining unit.
- Article 11- Appointments, Transfers and Promotions: Carewest needs to put more emphasis on recognizing seniority when you apply for new positions. This was one of the top issues in our bargaining survey.
- Article 26 – Leaves of Absences: We discussed our right to take time off for union business. This was another major issue members identified in our bargaining survey.
