AUPE extends its condolences and sympathies to everyone affected by yesterday’s tragic event at the Legislature
Suicide is serious. Alberta’s suicide rate is above the national average, and more must be done to help those who see it as the only option available to them, especially during times of economic hardship.
We thank the workers, including AUPE members from the Sheriffs Department, who were first on the scene, and we also thank the counsellors who are on site helping everyone work through this difficult time.
