AHS members: New hiring process begins Monday, Dec. 5

As per new LOU #22, the Optional Consequential Internal Vacancy Process will be implemented on job postings starting on Monday, December 5.   

Managers will have the ability to decide when they should use the new process versus traditional job posting processes (which they can still choose to use).  The advantage of the process is that "Pre-Qualified Employees" (Regular employees who hold the same classification, perform the same job duties, work in the same unit or program and are part of the same shift schedule) don't have to submit a resume nor attend an interview, rather, vacancies under the process are awarded based on seniority only. 

The process will be as follows: 

  1. The vacancy will posted as normal online.   
  2. The Hiring Manager will review the applicant pool after 5 calendar days to see which internal applicants have applied as of that time frame (note a resume is not required); 
  3. If any of the applicants as of the deadline (within 5 calendar days) are Regular Employees who already hold a Regular position of the same classification within the same unit or program as the posted vacancy, the Manager can proceed with offering the vacancy to these Employees starting with the most senior;
