AHS recently invited AUPE to continue discussing Recovery Alberta transfers.
However, AHS also said they still do not want AUPE members to have access to the Layoff and Recall article of the collective agreement.
AUPE agreed to meet with AHS on August 14 and 16 to discuss the issue, but we told AHS that our position has not changed.
We believe all AHS employees should be treated the same. AUPE members should have the right to choose whether to move to Recovery Alberta, the same way UNA members do.
AHS recently sent affected members a "Transition Notice." Until we have more information, contact your manager if you have questions or want more information about the transition.
Because AHS refuses to offer us the same rights as other employees, AUPE has very limited information and does not have a transition agreement in place. Your management should have answers. As always, please contact your AUPE Membership Services Officer at 1-800-232-7284 if you need assistance.
Your negotiating teams is carefully reviewing the full impact Recovery Alberta will have on our collective agreement rights. We will do everything we can to ensure our rights are upheld and will update members when we learn more.
Keep wearing red and getting ready to fight for the wages, benefits, and working conditions we deserve.
