AgeCare Walden Heights Ratifies New Agreement

On November 23, workers at AgeCare Walden Heights voted to ratify their new collective agreement. This comes after a long and contentious battle at the bargaining table, where the employer repeatedly delayed or cancelled meetings, only to table offers which they knew would not be acceptable.

Details of the new agreement were covered in our last update and includes monetary gains across the board, as well as clearer language around harassment, probation, appointments and promotions.

Thanks to all the negotiators and members who contributed to this process. The newly ratified collective agreement will be effective from June 2, 2020 through June 1, 2025.
