Town of Ponoka: Significant progress in negotiations

Your negotiating team met the employer on May 29 and 30 to continue bargaining.
We made significant progress, signing off all articles not related to wages and benefits. Notable improvements include:
- Grievance Procedure
- All casual and temporary employees can now advance grievances to arbitration
- Benefits During Leave
- Permanent employees on leave for longer than thirty working days will have the option to continue benefit coverage for the entire duration of their leave. Premiums will be paid by the employer.
- Timelines for Investigations
- The employer now has a 15-day time limit to investigate allegations.
Negotiations will continue July 4. Your negotiating team is prepared to fight for the wages and benefits we deserve.
