Your AUPE Negotiating Team has reached a new tentative agreement with your employer. This comes after six productive days of bargaining concluding May 19.

The tentative agreement would provide raises and other monetary benefits for members and your bargaining team recommends that members vote to accept this agreement.

The three-year agreement, ending March 31, 2024, includes:

Raises

  • 1% as of April 1, 2021
  • 1.25% as of April 1, 2022
  • 2% beginning April 1, 2023
  • Each raise is for ALL classifications
  • All General Support Services members will receive an additional 1.5% if we ratify the agreement.

Lump Sum Payment

  • All staff will receive a lump sum payment of 1.5% of all paid hours work from Jan. 1, 2021 to Dec. 31, 2021.

Shift Premiums

  • Night shift premiums raised by $0.25 to $4.75

Dental and Health Spending

  • The basic and extensive dental cap rises to $2,500 as of Jan. 1, 2023.
  • Health spending account increases to $700 as of Jan. 1, 2023.

RRSPs

  • Members working one-half of a Full-Time position (0.5 FTE) are now eligible for the RRSP program.
  • RRSP contributions from the employer, as of September 1, 2022, will be based on ALL paid hours and paid at the rate of $0.50/hour, $0.65/hour or $0.70/hour depending on your length of service.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

  • Legacy Lodge will recognize this important day of observance as a holiday under Article 18.

Your team and the employer also discussed working short and possible solutions. We agreed to add additional language to Article 12 to address concerns. Your team also negotiated improvements to the Articles on Discipline and Health and Safety.

Voting on the agreement

Members will vote on whether to accept this agreement.

Voting will take place at the worksite on Wednesday, June 8 from 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
