Good Samaritan Society: Employer’s hiring woes cause bargaining delays

GOOD SAMARITAN SOCIETY PDD GROUP HOMES LOCAL 042 – CHAPTER 007 - ALL STAFF

Your negotiating team eager to get back to the table

Text only block

Many of the Good Samaritan Society’s Labour Relations/Human Resources team left their employ, including those assigned to negotiate, which has caused a significant delay in our ability to bargain. We were informed mid-February that they had hired a new negotiator who would start at the end of that month.

More recently, we were informed the new negotiator needed until early April to complete his onboarding which includes preparing bargaining at both Good Samaritan Society (GSS) tables.

We will continue to press the employer to return to the bargaining table.

Remember that your current collective agreement remains in effect. If you feel it’s not being followed, or if you’re having problems at work, please talk to a Union Steward or reach out to AUPE’s Members’ Resource Centre at 1-800-232-7284 and they will put you in touch with your Membership Services Officer.

If you have any questions or feedback about this bargaining update, please contact a member of your negotiating team.
