Bargaining committee urges you vote to reject mediator recommendations

Text only block

The mediator appointed to help get your first collective agreement issued his report today (Monday, Sept. 20), making recommendations on what he thinks should be in that contract.

It is now up to you to vote on his recommendations. Your bargaining committee is urging that you vote against acceptance of the mediator’s recommendations.

A detailed package of information including the mediator’s report and our analysis of it is being mailed to your homes. Briefly, your bargaining committee feels that it does not provide a fair deal for the work you do and leaves too many questions unanswered.

The package will include mail-in ballot forms. These must be received at the AUPE HQ in Edmonton by Oct. 29.

Your bargaining committee members will hold virtual question-and-answer sessions on Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. to noon and from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Zoom. Click on this link join the meetings:
