To help push negotiations out of the current deadlock, we applied for mediation yesterday. The next time we meet with the employer, an independent, third party will also be there, and we’ll be able to make another case for your concerns and proposals.

The main issue that remains outstanding is job security, which has always been one of your top priorities. You help some of Edmonton’s most vulnerable people find affordable housing for themselves and their families, and the quality and consistency of this important service in our city depends on the stability of your employment.

CRHC is the largest provider of social and affordable housing in the Edmonton area. They manage over 4500 social housing rental units and over 600 affordable housing rental units. They claim to “put people first.” As the frontline staff who talk to the clients CRHC claims to help, you know the new Contracting Out Article and Employment Security Letter of Understanding (LOU) we’re proposing would accomplish this pursuit.
