Agreement Details
There are a number of changes and improvements in this new agreement. Here are some of the changes that matter to you:
• An entirely new Article about Contracting Out, which prevents the employer from contracting out bargaining unit positions without first consulting with the Union.
• Health & Wellness Spending Account: Your account starts at $1,000. Over the course of the agreement it will increase to $1,112.50 on April 1, 2019, and $1,150 on January 1, 2020.
• Premiums for your Employee and Family Assistance Program will now be paid 100% by the employer.
• A wage reopener in the third year of the agreement, which we will begin negotiating on May 1, 2019 or on another mutually agreed on date. If we cannot agree on a new salary adjustment by June 30, 2019, we will be able to apply for interest arbitration, which would be held no later than October 31, 2019.
