Check your Dec. 30 pay for 1% raise awarded by arbitrator
General Support Service (GSS) members employed by Carewest will be getting their back-dated 1% raise on their Dec. 30 paycheque.
Earlier this month, an independent arbitrator ruled that GSS staff would get a 1% raise for the third year of the last collective bargaining agreement. Nursing-care members were give 0%. We accepted a 0% increase for 2017-2019 and an arbitrated wage re-opener for the last year (2019-2020).
The 1% raise for General Support Services (GSS) members is retroactive to July 1, 2019.
