Some of the working conditions that remain outstanding are Contracting Out, Contracting In, Wage Equity, Inclusions/Exclusions, and Lay off and Displacement.
These are important worker issues. Everything we’re proposing is to improve your job security (which would make residents’ and clients’ care more stable) and to create a more equal environment where everyone is supported.
Carewest has applied for informal mediation. The next time we meet with the employer, we will be in mediation.
Regardless of the next steps we take, your bargaining team will continue to stand behind the improvements you’ve identified as necessary for creating a fairer workplace.
We have also reached out to our Essential Services Agreement (ESA) negotiators to start the ESA process.
