Bargaining Begins!

Text only block

Your negotiating team met with the employer on Oct. 21 and 22 to begin negotiations for a new collective agreement.

We had productive conversations with the employer on a number of issues and were able to sign off on the following:

  • Article 3: Bargaining Agent
  • Article 24: Illness Leave
  • Article 26: Care Leaves
  • Article 33: Worker’s Compensation
  • Letter of Understanding: Exclusions

Your team is determined to make some major improvements to our collective agreement in this round of bargaining, including better labour relations and a new dispute resolution.

The last few years have been difficult for us, and not just because of the pandemic. The UCP government’s budget cuts has caused layoffs, changes, and hardship for our fellow workers. It is more important than ever to actively engage in bargaining and support our negotiating team.

If you have any questions, please contact a member of your negotiating team or AUPE resource staff.
