Bargaining update - AGLC
*Bargaining reaches impasse, town halls to be held* Your bargaining committee reached an impasse in negotiations with the employer following our last round
May 14, 2019
Unfortunately, there are several items, including health benefits, we are still far apart on. As a result, we will pursue an Essential Services Agreement (ESA). An ESA is required before legal job action can take place. It governs the terms of a strike or lockout in the event one should occur at AGLC. Once we have an ESA in place, we will seek a mediator to assist in moving bargaining forward.
Your committee will hold a series of town halls to provide members with important information:
• May 23, 2019 – Edmonton, AUPE HQ at 5 p.m.
• May 28, 2019 – Red Deer, AUPE regional office at noon
• May 28, 2019 – Stettler, Stettler Rec Centre at 6 p.m.
• May 29, 2019 – Calgary, AUPE regional office at 5 p.m.
It is IMPORTANT you attend. Food and beverages will be provided.
There will be a teleconferencing option available for the Edmonton and Calgary town hall dates for members who cannot make it to any of the town halls.
