Attention Health-Care Aides (HCAs): Don't miss this crucial deadline
An important deadline for all AUPE HCA members is imminent.
Pursuant to the Regional Health Authorities Act, all Alberta HCAs must enrol in the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory by Wednesday, Dec. 18.
Protect your employment. Visit https://www.albertahcadirectory.com to enrol today – click on the button (pictured below) to begin. There is also a video tutorial on the page to help you through the process.
Employers have said that if you do not enrol in the directory by Wednesday, Dec. 18 you will be put on administrative leave without pay.
This applies to all HCA members working for:
- Alberta Health Services (AHS)
- All private-sector continuing care
- All public-sector continuing care
- Covenant Health
- Covenant Care
- Carewest
I’ve been working as an HCA for years. Why do I have to enrol now?
This mandatory enrolment was a directive introduced under the NDP government in 2018. All employers who receive public funding from AHS are requiring HCA staff to register and join the directory.
