AGLC: Productive discussions held on non-monetary items

Bargaining update for Local 050, AGLC

Jun 13, 2025

Text only block

Bargaining focused on hours of work and job opportunities when your negotiating team met the employer on June 3 to discuss non-monetary items.

Both sides recognize that the way people work has changed since our current collective agreement was written. We had productive conversations about options we might include in our new collective agreement to address those changes.

On the issue of job opportunities, your negotiating team wants preference to be given to internal candidates over external candidates. We also want seniority to be a deciding factor when all other factors are considered equal.

Our employer wants to withhold posting new jobs for 120 days instead of the current 90 days. They say this will help deal with a domino effect of backfilling positions as internal candidates move into new positions.

Both sides agree to review these items and return with counter proposals at the next meetings.

Next meetings September 19 and 21

Your negotiating team gets back to the bargaining table with AGLC on September 19 and 21.

Wear red on those days to show your support! Take photos with your co-workers and send them to [email protected] so we can spread the solidarity on the union’s social media.

Please contact a member of your negotiating team with any questions or concerns.
