As part of our centennial efforts, AUPE has launched a union-wide survey to learn about members, their needs and priorities, and to help us prepare for celebrations in 2019.

“Next year will mark AUPE’s centennial and we are so proud of our 100 years of standing together in solidarity for workers’ rights. One of the ways we’re getting ready is by taking stock of our growing membership with a Centennial Census. It’ll tell us a lot about the demographics of the tens of thousands of Albertans that make up our union today,” said Karen Weiers, AUPE Vice-President and chair of the AUPE Centennial Committee.

The census data will help the union focus our advocacy work, better inform our strategies at bargaining tables and help build a stronger sense of solidarity among all of us.

These results will help shape our union, so make sure your voice is heard! As a token of appreciation, members who complete the census can enter themselves into a draw for 50 prizes, including AUPE Centennial swag, five iPads and even a two-night stay in Jasper.

Emails with a link to the census have already been sent out to all AUPE members. Please check your email to access the census and complete it by July 27, 2018.

If you’re unsure whether AUPE has your personal email address, please use this form to update your personal information today.

The AUPE Centennial Census will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete. The questions range from general information to questions related to personal identity and human rights, as we want to capture a detailed snapshot of our members and the issues they care about.

The census is completely anonymous and direct quotes from the feedback we receive will not be shared publicly. Once you’ve completed all the questions, you’ll be taken to a separate form to enter the raffle.

We will report back on the Centennial Census results in September, so stay tuned!
