As noted in last week’s bargaining update, your committee and the employer ratified the tentative agreement. This now becomes your collective agreement.

The agreement will see members receive retroactive wage increases of 1.2 per cent for 2015 and 0.8 per cent for 2016.

Former employees of Covenant Health who worked for the company between April 1, 2015 and March 31, 2017 are entitled to claim retro pay. Former employees must submit their requests by August 18, 2017.

Former staff are asked to submit their request for retroactive pay to HR Business Support at:

You will need to provide the following information:

· Name
· Address
· Phone number
· Banking information
· Date of birth
· SIN

Retro pay information for current Covenant Nursing Care members will be communicated soon.

In addition to wage increases, a number of additional language gains were made.

Highlights include language to combat bullying and harassment, more available hours for part-time and casual employees, more decisions based on seniority and a six-day cap on consecutive worked days.
