Bargaining Continues

Your bargaining committee met with the employer for two days of negotiations on March 6 and 7.

While the employer has removed several of their proposed rollbacks to the current collective agreement, they are maintaining their position on other proposals, including changes to the following articles: sick leave, leaves of absence, discipline, retirement savings plan, probation period, and hours of work.

The employer has also unfortunately altered their salary proposal to a one-per-cent wage increase in the third year of the agreement. Your bargaining committee views this as unacceptable. The work you do is important and valuable, and we know you deserve to be adequately compensated for those efforts. We will continue to fight for your interests, because we know your worth and we know the residents at Revera Riverbend depend on the incredible services and care that you provide them every day.

Your bargaining committee’s monetary proposals remain unchanged, and we continue to negotiate for wage increases, shift and weekend premiums, retirement savings plan contributions and LPN registration fees.

We have scheduled further meeting dates on April 24 and 25, and we will continue to keep you updated throughout this process. If you have questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact a member of your bargaining committee for more information.
