Bargaining Continues

On Dec. 5, 6 and 7, your bargaining team met with the employer to continue informal mediation. On day two, we both agreed enhanced meditation was the best course of action to take, which will begin Feb. 2.

Right now, we are bargaining and working without the protections of a first collective agreement — something no worker should have to do. Because of your perseverance, focus and support, we have already signed off on most non-monetary articles, but we still have not come to an agreement that fully values your worth and your work.

Right now, coming to an agreement is your bargaining team’s top priority. Enhanced mediation will put our conversations with the employer on a stricter timeline, so we can come closer to achieving this.

The enhanced mediator will not only help direct our conversations, ensuring we stay focused on top priority concerns, but if we can’t come to an agreement after 30 days, they will issue recommendations based on the case we make for our proposals.

On April 1, both our members and Mountain View Seniors’ Housing will vote on the mediator’s recommendations.

If you have any questions, concerns or comments, please contact one of your bargaining team members.
