On February 7 and 8, your bargaining committee had our first in-depth discussions with the employer after exchanging our initial proposals on Dec. 11, 2018.
We began with non-monetary items, including our proposals for language in the collective agreement to improve our working conditions.
In particular, we had quite a bit of discussion on the issue of workplace harassment, discrimination and abuse, which we know is a priority of the membership.
We will move on to monetary items, including our proposals for improvements to wages, benefits and total compensation later in bargaining.
Our next bargaining meetings are scheduled for March 28 and 29.
Annual General Meeting (AGM) March 7, 2019
Your chapter AGM is on March 7, from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., on the worksite in the basement education centre. The agenda for this meeting will include an update on bargaining from your committee, along with your AUPE Staff Negotiator.
Your attendance and your voice are important. Showing your support for your bargaining committee will help us in the bargaining process. We hope to see you there.
