Bargaining continues

Your bargaining committee met with the employer on June 7 and 8. We were able to sign off on two articles with current language: Sick Leave and Resignation will remain written as they are now. And we amended two more, including Job Posting and Amendments.

The other amended article, Discipline and Dismissal, upon ratification of the agreement, will allow you to request removal of discipline from your personnel file after 18 months if you receive no further discipline during that time.

We also had good, in-depth discussions about the Respectful Workplace article. Your bargaining committee has heard the membership loud and clear; we know improving the respectful workplace language is a priority and will continue to make this clear to the employer.

Further meeting dates are to be determined.
