Committee minutes access change

Posted July 04, 2018 in Legislative Committee, Membership Services Committee, Finance Committee, Committee on Political Action, Occupational Health & Safety Committee, Anti-Privatization Committee, Women's Committee, Pension Committee, Members' Benefits Committee, Pay and Social Equity Committee, Young Activists Committee, Human Rights Committee, Environmental Committee, Provincial Executive, Executive Committee

At the June 2018 meeting of the Provincial Executive, representatives passed a motion to remove the minutes of standing committees, the Executive committee, and the Provincial Executive from the website. Although AUPE is committed to transparency, having these minutes posted on the website exposed sensitive union information on a public forum, where it could be accessed by members of the public, media, and employers. This could potentially put the union at risk or undermine our ability to conduct business free from external influence.
