GOLDEYE CONFERENCE CENTRE IN NORDEGG, AB
This summer camp is for children of AUPE members between the ages of ten and thirteen.
Two youth from each of AUPE’s 33 locals will be chosen by completely random selection; every applicant has an equal chance of attending.
Campers must be born between Aug. 31, 2005 and Aug. 25, 2008 to be eligible to apply for Camp AUPE. The application deadline is May 4, 2018.
Selected applicants (and two back-up applicants per Local) will be notified by mail with a welcome package, and required to mail or e-mail back a registration package before the cancellation deadline of June 8, 2018.
To complete registration, applicants must indicate they will attend the camp, sign waivers, and provide information including dietary restrictions, allergies, medical and health issues, emergency contact, authorized adult for pick-up, and other information as requested. Failure to communicate with AUPE’s Education Department by the cancellation deadline will result in the applicant losing their invitation.
At Camp AUPE, campers will have the opportunity to be active and engaged in learning about how unions came to be in Alberta, and how working people can make the world a better place when they stand up together.
Campers will have fun, safe, positive experiences where they will develop leadership skills. Youth will participate cooperatively and be inspired to take collective actions for fairness and rights.
