Susan Slade

Local 045, Calgary

Vice President Susan Slade was first elected to AUPE’s Executive Committee in 2012, after holding numerous executive positions within Locals 041 and 045.

A Licenced Practical Nurse on leave from Alberta Health Services, Slade cared for Albertans for 18 years before joining AUPE’s Executive Committee.

Slade continues to place three principles at the forefront of her leadership: strength, solidarity and support. She believes these should form the backbone of all relationships within a union.

Slade currently chairs the AUPE Membership Services Standing Committee and is Chairperson of the Sponsorship Board of the Public Service Pension Plan. 

Vice President Slade and her spouse, Christopher, have an amazing, blended family of five children, one granddaughter. In her free time, she enjoys camping, travelling and spending time with her family and two dogs.
