NUPGE REPORT
President MacLennan advised that AUPE's Committee representatives (re NUPGE) (Dan MacLennan, Julie Cromarty, Audrey Randall, Wesley Morgan and staff representative Pam Kirkwood) had met in Winnipeg with NUPGE's Committee representatives (James Clancy, Dianne Wood, BCGEU, Peter Olfert, President of MGEU, Tom Hanlon, President of NFLD and staff representative Carol Meyer).

The Motion by AUPE's Provincial Executive to not pay any back dues and not give endorsement on the motion previously required by NUPGE was discussed. NUPGE wished to welcome AUPE back and proposed an arrangement that AUPE come back to NUPGE which would strengthen NUPGE's fight to the CLC with respect to the justification, etc. This would however not allow AUPE back into the House of Labour via the CLC nor the AFL or other labour councils. It was reiterated that NUPGE did not have the agreement of the National Executive Board but would pursue this matter with their Board to lift the suspension, if this was something AUPE wished to pursue.

MOTION AS AMENDED: That AUPE wait until after the CLC Convention 2002 to assess the changes and its position regarding affiliation, however, this should not preclude the Appeal to the NUPGE Convention in November 2001.

Some Emergency Resolutions were submitted and dealt with.
The meeting adjourned upon the conclusion of Convention.
