The meeting on September 23rd was called to order at 11:10 A.M. in Red Deer, Alberta with President MacLennan in the Chair.

This was a special meeting of the Provincial Executive to deal with the recent announcement by the President and the need for an election of the President’s position at Convention.

The President advised he plans to resign immediately after having provided delegates his report to Convention on the first morning.

At that time Convention is open for anyone to run for the President’s position being a one year term. Nestor Slipchuk, Life Member has agreed to conduct the elections.

It was noted that hopefully some of the more important Resolutions are heard at Convention one being, the issue of rejoining NUPGE. Some discussion followed on affiliation fees, etc. to the AFL and NUPGE. At present affiliation fees, etc. would now exceed two million dollars per year.

The next regular scheduled meeting is Wednesday, October 25, 2006 (pre-Convention).
