About the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE)
Provincial Executive Meeting
Sept 8-9, 2006
The meeting was held on September 08th and 09th and was called
to order at 1:02 P.M. in Edmonton, Alberta with President MacLennan
in the Chair on the first day.
Regular reports by the President, Vice-Presidents and Committees
were given.
The Audited Financial Statements were reviewed with the PE by a
representative from Gardiner Karbani Audy & Partners.
A number of Motions were passed:
- To forward a donation to the Family Violence
Conference and the Aspen Foundation.
- Ensure a participant from the Women’s Committee is sent
to the Family Violence Conference.
- To forward the Audited Financial Statements
to Convention.
A number of Policies were amended:
Policy 5-36 Per Diems & Payment of Money to Attend Meeting(s)
Policy 10-10 Retirement Pin
More volunteers are needed for the ‘Change the Law’ Campaign.
The Anti-Privatization Committee is still accepting ideas for a
logo/slogan. Any ideas are to be submitted to the Anti-Privatization
Committee.
Eight life memberships will be given out at Convention.
Any ideas with respect to recognition of service from members coming
from other Unions is to be forwarded to the Membership Services
Committee.
The next meeting is scheduled for October 25, 2006 prior to Convention.
The meeting adjourned at 12:13 p.m. on September 9, 2006.
