Susan Maruca
Membership Services Officer
Edmonton City Centre Office

Susan Maruca is a Membership Services Officer working out of the Edmonton City Centre Office. Susan joined AUPE in January 2001 and became an AUPE Membership Services Officer in October 2002. She is responsible for providing AUPE Services to the General Support Services and Auxiliary Nursing at the University of Alberta Hospital. Maruca has previously serviced the General Services Sector, Boards, Agencies and Local Government Sector and other Health Sector sites. Susan also has an extensive administrative background.

Maruca is currently assigned as the AUPE Staff Advisor to the AUPE Membership Services Committee. She has previously worked with the AUPE Women’s Committee and AUPE Pay Equity Committee. Susan has been involved in the Union movement since 1983.

During these years of involvement, Susan has served as Union Steward and Bargaining Committee member. She also provides facilitation to many of AUPE’s Education Courses.

Born and raised in Edmonton, Maruca has been an activist in her community for many years. Maruca has served as Community soccer coach, Edmonton Police Volunteer Community Station worker, Neighborhood Watch coordinator and volunteered in the New Mom’s Program at the Grey Nuns Hospital. She has played competitive soccer and volleyball for many years. When not busy serving the AUPE Membership she loves to get away camping with her husband and friends.
