Originally
from Saskatchewan, Judy Mayer moved to Edmonton in 1976. She worked
as a telephone operator and then as a legal secretary before joining
the Alberta Government in 1981.
She was a member of the Worksite Occupational Health and
safety Committee, served as a Local 002 Shop Steward and attended various
labour conferences.
Mayer has certificates in Management Development and Addiction Studies.
Her long list of volunteer work includes facilitator for the Alzheimers
Society and the Alberta Lung Association and as a mentor at the Edmonton
Institution for Women.
Mayer currently services AUPE member at these sites: Glenrose Hospital,
Fort Saskatchewan Hosital, Redwater Hospital, Shepherd's Care Kensington,
Shepherd's Care Millwoods, Shepherd's Care Millwoods, Shepherd's Care
Ottewell, and Allen Gray Continuing Care Centre as well as staff rep
assigned to Locals 46 and 47.
