Biographies
Earl Thompson
Membership Services Officer, Camrose
East Central Regional Office

Earl Thompson joined the government of Alberta in 1979 as a Correctional Offier at the Fort Saskatchewan Correctional Facility, following a 13-year career in the Royal Canadian Navy.

Thompson initially became involved with AUPE, as a result of a strike in 1980.

Earl has since held a variety of positions at chapter and local levels of the union, including chief steward, chapter chair, council rep, PE rep and local chair. He also spent three terms as Vice-President.

Thompson was seconded to a temporary staffing position with AUPE in January 2004. Currently, he works as a full-time MSO out of the Camrose Regional Office.

In his spare time, Earl enjoys playing baseball during the summer, while holding down the position of trainer for the Lamont Bruins, a Senior A hockey team, during the winter months.
