Don Brandford joined AUPE's Calgary Regional Office on secondment, and then as a temporary MSO, in 2004. In 2005, Brandford accepted an MSO position in the union's Grande Prairie Regional Office.

Brandford relocated to Edmonton Headquarters in early 2007, where he continues to work as an MSO assigned to the health-care sector.

Before becoming a staff member, Brandford worked as a nursing attendant, porter and driver with the Calgary Health Region for 20 years.

As a member of Local 095 in Calgary, he held positions of Chapter Chair, and sat as a member on both the local's Bargaining Committee and Council.

Originally from Ontario, Brandford relocated to Calgary in 1974.

Outside of work, Brandford is an active sports enthusiast, who enjoys cheering for his beloved Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League.
