Carol Drennan
Membership Services Officer, Education
Edmonton City Centre Office
Carol Drennan has been a Membership Services Officer in Edmonton
since April 2004. Initially, Carol was assigned to Special Operations
- Classifications in Edmonton headquarters assisting members with classification
appeals, Point Rating Evaluation Plan classification conversion, etc.
In November, 2004 she moved into Labour Relations in Edmonton’s
City Centre office with servicing responsibilities for Local 002, some
ministries within General Services, and the Northern Alberta Institute
of Technology.
Carol was a temporary Membership Services Officer both in Red Deer
and Edmonton prior to joining staff in spring of 2004. With over 30
years in administrative experience, 24 of which were with the Alberta
Government working for, Alberta Transportation in Edmonton and Red
Deer. During this time, she was an active member of AUPE, holding numerous
elected positions at chapter and local level, serving as Chair of Local
001 (Administrative and Support Services directly employed with Provincial
Government), Chair of Red Deer Area Council and a member of the AUPE
Standing Legislative Committee for several years.
At the community level, Carol has been involved in fundraising for
the Alberta Kidney Association, served as a Brownie Leader, President
of the Penhold Gymnastics Club, active in the Cottonwood Kayak Club,
and a slalom judge with Alberta Whitewater Association.
In her spare time, Carol enjoys gardening and the outdoors – hiking,
camping, kayaking and traveling with her family.
