Government asked for $39 million more to turn Villa Caritas into psychiatric hospital

EDMONTON – A document obtained by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees shows that Alberta Health Services has requested an additional $39.4 million in funding from Alberta Health and Wellness in order to take over ownership of Villa Caritas and convert the long-term care centre into a psychiatric hospital.
