AUPE and Strathcona County sign two-year deal
AUPE President Guy Smith and Strathcona County Mayor Cathy Olesen sign a two-year master agreement between the union and county Oct. 13 at County Hall in Sherwood Park. The deal will see County workers with a 3.5-per-cent increase in years one and two of the two-year contract. Strathcona County employees are members of AUPE Local 118/009.
Local 001/009 Donation
Faye Rever (left) and Audrey Randall (right) from AUPE Local 001/009 present a cheque for $500 to Trish Frank (centre), Director of the Peace River Sugar Plum Daycare Centre. The donation was given to the Peace River Child Care Association to help fund their much needed expansion for quality childcare services in the Peace region. Local 001 allocated $500 to each Chapter in the province to be donated to a non- profit group of their choice in their respective community.
