“Stand Up for Public Health Care!” rally at the Legislature 1:30 p.m. Saturday
EDMONTON – AUPE is reminding members and supporters to take part a major rally for public health care being hosted by the Friends of Medicare on the front steps of the Legislature at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 9.
AUPE Local 054 Council members will be attending the rally, ensuring at least 50 AUPE members will be there showing their support for public health care. Members from other AUPE locals are encouraged to join the rally in solidarity with their brothers and sisters.
Friends of Medicare has organized a bus to take supporters from Calgary and Red Deer to the rally. AUPE members or anyone else outside of Edmonton that needs transportation from Calgary or Red Deer is asked to call Ted at the Friends of Medicare at 403-286-9283.
“With the recent delisting, and threats of further delisting, along with the attack on seniors, we need to give our government a strong message that we do not agree!” said Friends of Medicare director David Eggen.
