Seventh annual Curling Funspiel registration opens
The seventh annual AUPE Curling Funspiel is scheduled to take place March 30-31, 2012 at the Spruce Grove Curling Club.
“The Funspiel always draws a great bunch of enthusiastic members and sends them home with good memories,” said event organizer Gil Laflamme.
Friday’s events include a late lunch and an evening Vegas Night, while participants can look forward to morning and afternoon snacks, door prizes, a silent auction, a loser draw, a draw to the button, and supper on Saturday.
The cost per foursome for the event is $200 and guarantees teams three, six-end games as well as the opportunity to win prizes. All players must be 18 years of age or older to enter in the tournament. Organizers encourage each team to have an AUPE member, AUPE staff member, or Funspiel sponsor on their team.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Habitat for Humanity Women’s Build fund. There will also be a non-perishable food collection for the Parkland Food Bank.

The registration deadline is March 16 at 4:30 p.m. A maximum of 24 teams will be accepted, so teams are encouraged to register early.
