Reminder to media: Lunch hour information picket planned today at University of Lethbridge
LETHBRIDGE – Members of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees who work at the University of Lethbridge are planning a lunch hour information picket today to draw attention to the harmful effects of serious underfunding at Alberta post-secondary institutions.
WHO: Members of AUPE Local 053 employed by the University of Lethbridge and their supporters
WHAT: Information picket
WHEN: 12 noon to 2 p.m., TODAY
WHERE: University of Lethbridge main entrance, 4401 University Drive West
WHY: To protest the harmful effects of serious underfunding at Alberta post-secondary institutions
The event will take place from noon until 2 p.m. at the main entrance to the university.”
AUPE Vice-President Raz Erez and Local 053 Chair Tammy Paskuski will both be at the information picket and will be available for interviews with media.
AUPE Local 053 represents about 400 non-academic employees of the U of L.
